Between the Light and Night

Between the light and night, she finds his thoughts,
Her hair, cascading onyx locks uncoiled;
Not bound by the gathered clouds life had wrought,
The shine in her storm-weathered eyes unspoiled;
Twin emeralds rich and live like oceans,
Two shimmered gems of viridian green;
Her vermillion lips veil fierce emotions,
They’re keen as fresh tulips aside Dutch streams.
She’s vibrant like cardinal crests in flight,
Her carnal tones a siren’s song evokes,
She gently soothes his anguish-sodden nights,
Her sundown smile brings him spirit and hope.

Her support a lighthouse amid despair;
He pays mind to her to whom few compare.
